Welcome to the Chaos Magik Homestead community! Our farm is built around mentorship, education, and supporting fellow goat owners. We are always happy to answer questions and help our buyers succeed with the animals they bring home from our herd.
By placing a deposit or purchasing an animal from Chaos Magik Homestead, the buyer acknowledges that they have read and agree to the following terms. These guidelines help us ensure the health of our animals and maintain a positive experience for both buyer and breeder.
Reservations & Deposits
A non‑refundable deposit of 25% is required to reserve any kid or available goat.
Deposits are due within 24 hours of notification of birth or once a purchase agreement is made.
Accepted payment methods include Squarespace checkout or cash unless otherwise arranged.
Chaos Magik Homestead reserves the right to retain any kid from any breeding regardless of reservations.
Waitlist & Reservation Fulfillment
We maintain reservation lists for planned breedings. Performance and 4‑H homes may receive priority when reservations are filled.
If a reservation cannot be fulfilled, the buyer may transfer their deposit to another available kid, move their reservation to the following kidding season, or request a refund.
Final Payment & Pickup
Full payment is due prior to or at pickup unless other arrangements are agreed upon in writing.
Kids typically leave the farm between 3–6 weeks of age unless alternate arrangements are made.
If full payment is not received within 4 weeks of notification, the deposit will be forfeited and the animal may be offered to the next buyer.
Boarding
Any kid remaining on the farm after 4 weeks of age or any mature animal remaining on the farm after 2 weeks of purchase agreement without prior arrangements will incur a boarding fee of $15 per week to help cover feed, care, and labor.
Transportation
Transportation is the responsibility of the buyer.
Ground transport is preferred and should be arranged promptly once the sale is confirmed.
If air transport is arranged for kids, a $150 handling fee will apply in addition to crate and airline expenses.
Health certificates or testing required for interstate travel will be arranged by Chaos Magik Homestead and billed to the buyer.
Post Transportation Health
Transportation and relocation can be stressful for livestock and may temporarily impact appetite, immune response, parasite load, lactation, or general behavior
Chaos Magik Homestead cannot be responsible for health changes, illness, or stress-related conditions that may occur after an animal leaves our property due to transportation, environmental changes, diet changes, or herd integration.
Buyers are encouraged to minimize stress by providing a quiet transition period, appropriate nutrition, adequate hydration, and quarantine when introducing new animals.
Health Care Prior to Sale
All kids will be disbudded, tattooed, vaccinated with CD&T, and placed on a coccidia prevention protocol prior to leaving the farm.
All animals are sold in good health to the best of our knowledge at the time they leave the property.
Chaos Magik Homestead maintains detailed health records for every animal in our herd. These records are part of our commitment to responsible herd management and transparency with our buyers. Copies of the health records for the purchased animal will be provided to the buyer at the time of sale or pickup and may include, but are not limited to:
Medications administered
Parasite prevention and treatment protocols
Fecal egg count results
FAMACHA scores
Vaccination history
Other relevant health or management data
Chaos Magik Homestead maintains a proactive biosecurity program to protect the health and integrity of our herd. All goats in our herd over one (1) year of age are routinely tested for the following diseases:
Johne’s Disease
Caseous Lymphadenitis (CL)
Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis (CAE)
Test results are available to any buyer upon request.
We offer free fecal testing for any goat bred or sold by Chaos Magik Homestead for the life of the animal.
The buyer is responsible for sample collection, packaging, shipping, and transportation of samples.
We will gladly help interpret results and offer guidance on parasite management and herd health whenever possible.
Our goal is to help each buyer start with clear information about their new goat’s health history and to provide a strong foundation for continued herd management success.
Fertility Guarantee
Chaos Magik Homestead guarantees the fertility of breeding bucks and does for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase.
The animal must have been maintained in good health and appropriate body condition for the guarantee to apply.
If infertility is suspected, the buyer must provide documentation from a licensed veterinarian confirming infertility. The veterinary exam and documentation are the responsibility of the buyer.
Upon verification of infertility, Chaos Magik Homestead will provide a replacement buck or doe of similar value when available.
Bred Doe Policy
When purchasing a confirmed bred doe, blood pregnancy test results and approximate breeding dates will be provided along with the appropriate stud memo for registration.
However, Chaos Magik Homestead cannot guarantee ongoing gestation, successful delivery, live birth, or kid survival once the doe leaves the farm.
Development and Evaluation
Goats are living animals that continue to grow and develop over time. Traits such as size, structure, teat placement, horn scurs after disbudding, bite alignment, color patterns, and other characteristics may change as an animal matures.
Animals are sold based on their condition and evaluation at the time of sale. Chaos Magik Homestead does not guarantee show quality, milk production, conformation development, horn growth, or other traits that may change as the animal matures.
Our goal is always to provide animals with excellent genetic potential, but the final development of any animal is influenced by genetics, nutrition, environment, and management practices beyond our control.
Registration
Nigerian Dwarf goats are/will be registered with the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA).
Mini‑Macha and Grade Nigerian Dwarfs are/will be registered with the Miniature Dairy Goat Association (MDGA).
Wethers or pet animals are not registered.
Goats are herd animals and require companionship. We will not sell a single goat to a home without other goats unless more than one animal is being purchased.
We strongly encourage buyers to quarantine new animals for 30 days before introducing them to an existing herd.
Standard of Care
Buyers agree to provide appropriate care for the purchased animal, including adequate nutrition, clean water, safe shelter, parasite management, and necessary veterinary care.
Because goats are herd animals, they require companionship and should not be kept alone.
Chaos Magik Homestead reserves the right to decline a sale if it is believed that appropriate care standards may not be met.
Responsible Breeding Practices
Chaos Magik Homestead strives to produce healthy, well-structured animals with strong genetic potential.
Buyers purchasing breeding animals are encouraged to practice thoughtful and responsible breeding, including selecting appropriate pairings and maintaining high standards of herd management and animal welfare.
We are always happy to offer guidance to buyers interested in breeding decisions or herd development.
Representation of Animals
Buyers are welcome to reference Chaos Magik Homestead when advertising, promoting, or discussing pedigree, lineage or animals purchased from our herd. However, animals should not be represented in a way that implies they are currently owned, managed, or bred by Chaos Magik Homestead unless this is accurate.
Photos from our website or social media may also be used when promoting offspring or animals purchased from Chaos Magik Homestead, with attribution such as “Courtesy of Chaos Magik Homestead”.
We greatly appreciate being tagged in any Social Media content advertising, promoting or discussing our farm or animals, but do not require it.
Animals may not be misrepresented as being bred, owned, or raised by Chaos Magik Homestead if this is not accurate.
Right of First Refusal
If the buyer chooses to sell the goat in the future, Chaos Magik Homestead retains the right of first refusal to repurchase the animal at the original purchase price or fair market value.
Biosecurity & Returns
Due to strict biosecurity practices, animals may not be returned to Chaos Magik Homestead once they leave the property.
Mortality Before Pickup
If a reserved kid becomes seriously ill or dies prior to leaving our farm, the buyer may transfer their deposit to another available kid, move their reservation to the next kidding season, or request a refund.
Right to Refuse Sale
Chaos Magik Homestead reserves the right to refuse or cancel any sale if we believe the placement may not be in the best interest of the animal.
The Chaos Magik Community Commitment
Chaos Magik Homestead values the relationships built through our goat community and is always happy to support our buyers.
We are committed to helping new and experienced goat owners succeed with animals produced by our herd. Whenever possible, we are glad to offer guidance regarding herd management, nutrition, parasite control, breeding, and general goat care.
Our goal is not only to place quality animals in great homes, but also to help build confident and knowledgeable goat keepers within our community.
